I had the good fortune to be interviewed by the amazing Pushpa Gowda regarding how to best represent technology companies relative to their growth projections when negotiating office leases on their behalf. It is key to spend a great deal of time focusing on flexibility, as tech companies need to scale rapidly. You need to create avenues within the lease document to either grow in the existing building or relocate out of existing lease obligations at low costs. We also discuss the huge importance around what condition the landlord delivers you the space in. This is the significantly more important than even negotiating the rent that will be paid. Enjoy!
